Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour Support
Lumen Christi has taken up the opportunity to be involved in the WSAPBS Initiative offered by the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Office.
The Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour Support is an initiative through DOSCEL, which supports School Wide Expectations. It aims to engage our school students as successful learners who achieve their personal best, where all members of the school community work collaboratively, where each child has the opportunity to fully participate, engage in the process of schooling and become a successful learner. All members of the school community will have a significant role to play, ensuring they work collaboratively to engage all students in the process.
The WSAPBS aides the facilitation of the Personal and Social Capability within the Victorian Curriculum, the Victorian Child Safe Standards, Duty of Care and Occupational Health and Safety. It is supported by the elements of the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Resource.
Following our school Mission and Vision Statement, we will instill in all the children a mindset that they can Achieve, Believe, Succeed - Together through our three R’s that were adapted for The Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour Support. They are: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These, as well as our school Motto, Learn With Faith, are used in all areas of the curriculum to enhance our message and approach to a positive tone throughout the school. With collaboration of the students paramount, the staff will allow for student voice to help drive this whole school initiative.
