From the Principal
Dear Families,
We have had another busy and fantastic week here at Lumen Christi.
We had our visiting production of “Stellarphant” on Tuesday afternoon, our whole school mass celebrating Mary MacKillop and out Prep/1 breakfast was also a huge success.
This week we have some of out children representing our school in the basketball in Traralgon, so we wish them the best of luck and know that they will do us proud.
Our covid numbers are very low at school at the moment. I am reporting every day our covid numbers to DOSCEL and at the moment we have no cases in our school either students or staff. This means parents are doing a wonderful job at keeping children home when sick and we continue to do our best with our covid safe measures. We have copious amounts of hand sanitiser and masks to support all children in making the best choices in the classroom. It is a team effort between home and school, so we appreciate the support from parents and families. As much as we would like it to be over, supporting each other is the best way to keep our school community as free from the virus as possible. Thank you to everyone.
Last week, we celebrated the feast day of St Mary of the cross MacKillop with Father James at our whole school mass prepared by the grade 1/2s. This week as a Catholic School community, we celebrate the Assumption of Mary on the 15th August.
I have taken this prayer from the Parish bulletin:
Father in heaven,
all creation rightly gives you praise,
for all life and all holiness come from you.
In the plan of your wisdom she who bore the Christ in her womb was raised body and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness and join in her hymn of endless love and praise.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Have a wonderful week everyone,
Sally
