From the Principal
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we have reached week seven of term already, with only three weeks to go! What a busy term it has been.
Last week, I had to alert the school community to an incident that happened on the bottom playground at lunchtime. I would like to again, assure all families that the children were kept safe by the teachers and support staff who acted quickly and alerted the Police who were able to arrest all offenders. Again, if any children express that they are anxious or upset about this incident, don’t hesitate to contact me: principal@churchill.catholic.edu.au
Or phone the school office on: 5122 2231
We have a number of things happening this week.
Our Footy and Netball teams are competing on Wednesday – Mr Mahoney, Miss Julie and Mrs Nardino will be taking these children to the competition and we wish them well.
Remember that we have SCHOOL PHOTOS on Thursday – please make sure that we wear correct uniform on this day. Remember your envelope on the day if you haven’t brought it back already.
We also have our second Confirmation workshop on Thursday afternoon at 5pm.
We are also running a fun dad's night next week - it doesn't have to be just dads - uncles, grandads or other special father figures in our lives are welcome to attend. Please come along with your kids to have a fun afternoon/evening here at school.
Lastly, we have our “Bring a can if you can” day on Friday, wear your favourite beanie and also the P&F have organised a fun lunch. Please make sure your child brings their lunch order and money by 8:30am on Wednesday if they are planning on ordering lunch for Friday. Thank you to the P&F for their organisation.
Last Sunday was Pentecost Sunday – we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the true birth of the Catholic Church as we know it today.
Pentecost Prayer
God of power,
may the boldness of your Spirit transform us,
may the gentleness of your Spirit lead us,
may the gifts of your Spirit
be our goal and our strength,
now and always.
Amen.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
