As part of our wellbeing programs we were supported by Churchill Vinnies to be able to invite to Lumen Christi the Meerkat Productions team who presented their bullying show titled 'The Bull Ring'.  The plot of the show involved the main characters dealing various relationship issues and seeking advice from others in the animal kingdom.

The classes have completed some follow up work and discussions in class.  We thank the Year 5/6 students for their input and we would like to share Nino's reflection on what strategies the different animals suggested you could do when faced with a relationship problem or bullying.

Polar bear- To have a buddy to stick next to you and help you when times go down. 

Crocodile - To not make snap decisions and think about what will happen if you do.

Giraffe- To not be afraid and stand tall, above them and ignore what they say.

Lion-To stick next to your friends and support each other.

Elephant-To not listen to what they said, ignore them and do what you you think is right.

Orang-utang-To remember to try all of the strategies and not only just one.

Bison -  To not give up, and to not listen to anyone who is mean or criticising you.

This fits in easily with our Lenten message of 'Be the I in KIND' which the children have been discussing with our Religous Education Leader (and Art teacher) Mrs.Colaciello.
