From the Principal
Dear Families and Friends,
The beginning of spring is always a wonderful time of year. Almost overnight the blossoms on the trees begin to bloom and the days begin to get warmer. The arrival of Spring is definitely a positive we all need to celebrate. Fittingly, the whole month of September is dedicated to celebrating Creation in the Catholic Church. As Christians, and through prayer, we are asked to consider ways to care for our world and renew our shared commitment to preserving the Earth’s beauty.
Child Safety Week & RUOK Day
This Thursday, the staff of Lumen Christi will put together a ‘Wellness Day’ Learning Portal for the students to mark two significant events in our calendar - Child Safety Week and RUOK Day. Bishop Greg spoke in a Child Safety Week video message about holding the ‘care, safety and dignity of all children in the highest regard’. It is the collective effort of all adults to work together to keep our children safe.
Thursday morning, students will join their Google Meets at 9am as normal, however, on conclusion of their regular Meet, there will be a range of activities offered to focus on being safe, having a positive mindset, looking out for each other and a chance to be creative and have some fun. Students will be encouraged to take a photo of themselves completing one of the activities to add to our Wellness themed assembly slideshow. There may even be opportunities for families to enjoy an activity together.
We look forward to a day of fun and a day to check-in with each other to ask RUOK?
I want to continue to praise and thank the school staff for their flexibility and dedication to provide quality learning opportunities for students to complete during remote learning.
Stay safe everyone...
