From the Principal
Dear Families and Friends,
I hope you are all travelling well during these challenging times.
It has been wonderful to see the energised response by the students on our daily Google Meets. Staff are reporting such high numbers of attendance which is firstly a requirement, but also an excellent way for students to connect with their teacher and classmates. Along with sharing the daily learning tasks, classrooms have been able to play games, read and pray together and even celebrate birthdays during the Google Meets. I encourage the students to continue to engage in these Google Meets, undertake their daily learning tasks and reach out to their classroom teacher if they need support. I pray for an easing of restrictions soon, so we can see the children once again in their classrooms, but until that time our staff are working hard to provide rich learing tasks delivered online.
Last Friday our school celebrated Book Week. I thank Mrs Colaciello and Mrs Wilson for organising some activities related to the winning and shortlisted books for 2021. The winning picture story book for this year is How to Make a Bird written by Meg McKinlay. The students were treated to a live reading during our assembly from Mrs Wilson. Many of you may have also seen a special video of the school staff sharing their love of books, which was some fun to put together.
Finally, we send our warm wishes to Mr Cooper as he takes a few weeks of long service leave. We know he will return to school in Term 4 recharged and refreshed, ready for his final term with us.
Stay well everyone
Mr Camillo Redi
(on behalf of Mr Cooper)
