Leonardo di Vinci Exhibition

Explore the Mind of Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition
The children thoroughly enjoyed the Da Vinci Machines art exhibition this week at the Latrobe Regional Gallery. The exhibition was very hands-on with over 60 interactive machines created from original DaVinci drawings like his iconic inventions including the bicycle, the scuba suit, spring powered car and flying machines. They were interactive and hands on for the children to maneuver and try which they loved. Da Vinci was considered a genius being an inventor, scientist, anatomost, artist, engineer, mathematician and architect, thus making it a teacher's dream being able to link it into so many teaching areas. Italian, art, mathematics, history and science were key areas that classes touched on this week. His artwork made many links to our Cathoic Faith, in particular, the famous ‘Last Supper’ painting which depicts Jesus with His disciples sharing their last meal together before his death. We will share this story in the coming weeks as we prepare for Easter. Another wonderful piece of artwork was the replica of the ‘Mona Lisa’, the original being in France. The children were amazed with it’s value being well over $850 million. The exhibition will be open until 25 April 2021 and it is FREE. You just need to go to their website to book. This would be a great school holiday activity too. https://
