From the Principal
Dear Families and Friends
This week has been such an eventful one.
On Tuesday, the whole school were immersed into the world of Leonardo Da Vinci at the Latrobe Regional Gallery in Morwell called Da Vinci Machines. The students were engaged in these marvellous machine models and mesmerized by the famous replicated artwork Da Vinci was responsible for.
On Wednesday evening a group of Year 3 and 4 students completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation. An important milestone in the faith journey of these students, Reconciliation reminds us to make good choices and that when we have made a poor choice, we are honest and ask for forgiveness. Congratulations to the students who completed their first Reconciliation. A very big thank you to the wonderful staff who prepared and supported the students for the Sacrament. Thank you to Mrs Cathy Colaciello for the workshops to further prepare families for Reconciliation, and for all of her work to ensure the Sacrament was a prayerful and exceptional event. Also a special mention to Mrs Catherine Campbell for all the support she shows families preparing for various Sacraments across the year.
Additionally on Wednesday, our school was a sea of coloured clothes for our Easter Egg Raffle collection. Thank you for your contributions. We look forward to Thursday 1st April at 12pm for our annual Easter Raffle. Continue to sell your tickets and if you are looking for more, there are some available in the school foyer.
Walk to School day took place Thursday morning. It was wonderful to greet many students at the gates as they walked, rode or scooted their way to school. Of course all of that walking led to hungry mouths and we were once again lucky to have Cambo’s Kitchen to feed the crowd on arrival.
Finally, as summer sports come to an end we send our well wishes to all those playing in Cricket Grand Finals in our community this weekend, particularly Churchill Cricket Club at Morwell Rec Reserve and the CATS playing at Yinnar Rec Reserve (we extend our encouragement and good luck to our local stars Mr Cooper and Mr Stewart playing their finals.) Get down to Yinnar to see them in action if you’re free!
Have a lovely and restful weekend,
Mr Camillo Redi
(On behalf of Dave Cooper)
**Please note that there is a Funeral at our Church on Tuesday 23rd March from 10:30am. The carpark may be full in the afternoon for school pick up as the attendees of the funeral will return for a wake in the Church foyer.
