OUR ANNUAL CAN CHALLENGE IS BACK FOR 2025
OUR ANNUAL CAN CHALLENGE IS BACK FOR 2025!!
As a Catholic school we follow the Catholic Social Teaching Mission to help others in need, just as Jesus did. Over the next 2 weeks families are encouraged to bring in some cans of food and non-perishable food items to support the annual St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal. Last year we got to 293 cans which was an amazing effort - let's see if we can reach 300 this year! Things like cans of soup, tins of spaghetti and baked beans, cans of veggies, cans of fruit etc. Lumen Christi families are always so wonderful and giving each year with our can challenge so when you do your shopping this week maybe you could pop a couple of cans in the trolley or do a bit of a clean out of the cupboards at home and bring some can of food in, your generosity is greatly appreciated. 'Bring a CAN if you can!'
On the last day of term students are encouraged to wear their favourite beanie, we will have a whole school giving mass where we present the cans to our local St Vincent De Paul Society who will use these cans to help those people and families in Churchill that need their help this winter. Mass will be at 9:30am on the 3rd of July and as always, all our families are welcome to join us!
