From Mrs Darby

Dear Families,

As difficult times continue to unfold in the Middle East and with the involvement of
the United States, let us pray for peace as a school community:
Loving God of all nations,
You are the Creator of every person,
And You call us to live as one family in peace and love.
Today, we bring before You our prayer
For peace between the people of Iran and Israel.
We ask You to soften hearts, open minds,
And guide leaders to choose dialogue over violence,
Hope over fear, and reconciliation over conflict.
As Pope Francis reminds us:
Peace is not just a word – it must be built day by day.
Help us to be builders of peace in our own lives,
In our families, in our school, and in our world.
We remember the wisdom of Pope Leo XIII,
Who called for justice among nations,
And for the dignity of all people to be protected.
Teach us to respect others, no matter their faith or background,
And to see each person as Your beloved child.
Loving Lord,
May Your peace begin in our hearts
And flow out to the world.
Pray for Iran, pray for Israel and pray for us.
May we all be instruments of Your peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A reminder to all families that school finishes next Thursday at 3pm. There is no
school for children on Friday 4 th July. Term 3 begins on Monday 21 st July and we look forward to all the exciting things ahead when we are back at school after the break.

Next week, Grades F/1 and 1/2 have their Fairytale Dress Up Day on Tuesday.
There are also lunch orders on Thursday as well as our “Giving Mass” – bring a can
and wear your favourite winter beanie to school. As a Catholic school, we try to
partake in social justice initiatives to support vulnerable people in our community,
particularly during the winter months. A tin of baked beans, spaghetti or a can of
soup would be greatly appreciated so that those people in our community who need
our help are well looked after.

We also have a number of students participating in The Big Sing on Thursday this
week. Thank you to Mrs Szkwarek for organising this. I will be at the rehearsal and
will meet participating students in the foyer at GPAC in Traralgon. Mrs Szkwarek will
be there in the evening. In the past this has been such a joyful and positive event to
be a part of, I know that the children all enjoy it and we know they will represent our
school proudly.

Have a wonderful week ahead,

Sally
