From Mrs Darby

Dear Families,

Firstly, I’d like to thank and give a huge shout out to our Parents and Friends who not
only organised and ran a very successful Trivia Night on Friday night, but also
pivoted at very short notice with a change of venue after the fire at the Churchill Pub
last week.

Thank you to anyone in our school community who attended and supported the
school and to Churchill Soccer Club for allowing us to use their venue at such short
notice too.

Well done to our very own Sarah Webster, who works here at the school, and her
table who won the major table prize.

This week, we have our students playing in the Yinnar and District Soccer comp. Mr
Mulry has been hard at work organising the day and our children are looking forward
to taking part. Thank you also to Michael Byrne for offering to coach the Boys’ team
this year, we appreciate you giving up your time to help us on the day.

It is Catholic Education Week this week. Myself and Mrs Szkwarek will be attending
a Catholic Education Week Mass with our School Captains on Wednesday at St
Francis Xavier School in Beaconsfield, which will be a lovely day.

A reminder that next Wednesday is our Grade 6 Gifts and Services Night, it is a fun
day for students who get to prepare and cook a meal for their parents and share
some of their learning in the evening too. All children and their parents in Year 6 are
invited to take part in this event. Please come along, the past two years have been a
lovely way to gather as a year level and share in a special evening.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the team at the Churchill Hotel who, no doubt,
have had a very tough week. What a devastating thing to happen, I’m sure that the
support they have received from the local community has meant a lot whilst they lookat how to move forward.

Enjoy the week ahead,

Sally
