From Mrs Darby
Dear Families,
We had a fantastic day here last Thursday with an incursion from “Backflips Against Bullying”. The children really enjoyed this production for the second year in a row which was an engaging presentation with a focus on online Bullying, which is such an important topic for children of all ages as they navigate the online world through gaming and social media.
This week, we are getting ready to celebrate all of the special women in our lives with our Mother’s Day celebration. We have breakfast on Thursday morning at 8am and afterwards, there will be games and fun activities in classrooms followed by mass in our church.
All mums, grandmas, aunties or special people are invited to join us on the morning and we look forward to celebrating this special day with you all.
Our wonderful parents and friends will be running the mother’s day stall on Thursday also – if you would like children to purchase something from the stall please make sure that children have money on CDF pay.
On a personal note, I’d like to thank our wonderful parent community for some of the nice feedback I am hearing about our school. I have heard some lovely reports about parents spreading word of mouth about the good work we are doing here at Lumen Christi and the lovely school environment we provide for our children, families and staff. Thank you very much for spreading the word, for supporting the school and for being positive educational partners with us for our students. I appreciate your support very much.
A Mother’s Day Prayer for Our School Community
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of mothers—
for their nurturing hearts, guiding hands, and unwavering love.
Bless all the mothers in our school community—
our own mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and those who care for us
with a mother’s heart.
May they feel honored and cherished this coming Sunday and always.
Grant them strength in their challenges,
peace in their worries,
and joy in their daily tasks.
May Mary, the Blessed Mother, be their example,
leading them closer to Your Son, Jesus.
Lord, we also remember with love the mothers who are no longer with us.
Welcome them into Your eternal embrace,
and let their legacy of love live on in our hearts.
Bless our school with the spirit of compassion and unity
that mothers so often model,
and help us to always show gratitude and kindness to those who care for us.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
