                             SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST
This weekend at our 9am Lumen Christi parish mass we have 6 of our Grade 4 students who will receive the sacrament of First Eucharist. We are thinking of them and praying for them as they take this next important step in their faith journey. Members of our school community are warmly invited to join us for mass on Sunday at 9am at the church to support these students and be a part of this special celebration. There will be a morning tea following mass so feel free to stay for a cuppa and chat.

WHOLE SCHOOL END OF TERM MASS - Thursday 3rd April. Next week we will gather in the church as a school community to celebrate our end of term mass at 9:30am. Parents, careers and families are warmly welcome to join us for this mass.

NEXT THURSDAY - CARITAS WATER WALK!! (3rd April)
CAN WE FILL OUR BUCKET WITH COINS THIS YEAR??
During lent we think about almsgiving, or giving to others as an important pillar of our lenten journey towards Easter.
Next Thursday (3rd April) after recess our students will be completing a BIG WATER WALK around our Lumen Christi oval where they will be walking laps and carrying weighted buckets to get a sense of what it would feel like for those people in other countries where water is scarce and each morning they walk a very long way to retrieve a small amount of water for their family for the day. Sometimes they have to do this more than once a day!
During Lent as a school community we aim to raise money for Project Compassion which is the Catholic Churches international aid and development organisation who work in over 200 countries around the world to help those in need. Last year the Lumen Christi students and families boughts lots of coins in to make cent lines and this year we are aiming to fill a bucket with coins (you can see this bucket at school just near the office).
If students can bring their project compassion boxes back on this day and bring some coins from home (raid those cars and couches for any coins lying around) and we will put every coin that come in into the bucket and try and fill it to the top with coins to donate to Project Compassion for 2025. The theme for this year is 'Unite against poverty' - let's see if we can do our bit next week and bring along some coins to put in the bucket and FILL IT TO THE TOP!
