From Mrs Darby

Dear Families,

The end of the term is fast approaching and we still have a few important school
events coming up.
Our End of Term Mass is next Thursday 3 rd April at 9:30am in the church. All are
welcome.
We will also have our annual presentation of the “Passion Play” – our Grade 5/6
children will act out the Stations of the Cross and events of Good Friday. This will be
at 11:15am in the eco centre on Friday 4 th April. This is followed by the Easter raffle.
School finishes at 12:30pm on this day.
This week our P&F are running their first “tuck shop” – I’d like to thank the Parents
involved for getting this up and running and for everyone for supporting it by ordering
a lunch. I hope it will be a successful initiative that can continue throughout the year.
Parent Teacher Interviews are this week on Wednesday and Thursday evening.
Please make an appointment if you haven’t already. It’s an important part of our
assessment and reporting schedule and an opportunity to have a chat with your
child’s teacher/s and discussing anything important as we move forward throughout
the year.
Thank you to our Mental Health in Primary Schools leader, Mrs Adams for organising
the Harmony Day breakfast last week, it was a lovely morning and was wonderful to
see so many people enjoying the time together.
A letter was sent home yesterday with some important end of term information,
please check your child’s bag for the letter and make sure all of the important dates
and times are in your diaries. There are some school closures and public holidays
coming up that will be important for everyone to be aware of, particularly if parents
are arranging childcare around their work arrangements.
We are still in the season of Lent, for Catholics this is a time of preparation for
Easter. The Prayer of St Francis is often associated with this time. It is one many
people will have seen before and a lovely reminder of how we can operate in the
world to make it a kinder and gentler place for everyone.
St Francis Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

Have a wonderful week ahead,

Sally
