From Mrs Darby

Dear Families,
Congratulations to Esmae, Erin, Nils, Manny, Joshua and Tom on celebrating the
Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time last week on Wednesday. It was a
lovely evening and beautiful to see these children supported by their families in their
faith journey.

We also had swimming week last week. Our children followed our School Wide
Expectations of being Responsible, Respectful and Resilient throughout the week. A
huge thank you to our teacher and support staff for their work throughout the week,
they did a wonderful job ensuring that the children could participate in their lessons
positively.

Next week on Monday, I will send home a letter with your child’s 2025 teacher and
grade placement. We have Statewide Transition next week on Tuesday, so I know
families and children will be excited to see who their new teacher is.

I have some staffing news to announce to our school community.
Mr Power, Mrs Yeates, Ms Ensor, Miss Watson and Charli Rohde will be leaving our
school at the end of the year. I would like to take the opportunity to thank them for
their service to Lumen Christi and wish them well for the future.

This means we will be welcoming some new members of staff, which I am very
excited to announce.

Krystelle McSweeney will work in the school office as administration support to
Janelle Breheny and Compliance officer.

Louise Clarke will join us and will replace Kristie Smith who will take parental leave
at the end of March. Louise takes on the role of Senior Leadership in Teaching and
Learning.

Kerry Adams will join our team as the Mental Health in Primary Schools Leader and
Classroom Teacher.

Regina Sullivan, Caitlin Marinus and Courtney Smythe will all join our Teaching
Team.

Jodie Wilson will join our Learning Support Team.

I am very pleased with the quality and experience of teachers that we have been
able to successfully appoint to our staffing and am looking forward to a positive year
ahead.

We have now entered into the season of Advent in our school and the wider Catholic
community. Our families are all welcome to join us on Thursday 12 th December at
9:30 in the church for our Advent Mass and Nativity Play performed by our
Foundation and Year 1 students.

I also invite our school community to watch Bishop Greg’s Advent message on our
Facebook page. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful Bishop in our Diocese
who I always find to be very relatable and such a compassionate leader.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
