Bring A Can If You Can Day
In the last two weeks of term 2 we collected cans of food and non-perishable food items to donate to the St Vincent De Paul Society of Churchill. The challenge was set to reach 200 cans and we well-exceeded this total, donating 293 food items. Well done everyone!
The students really took this can-challenge on board this year. We heard stories of children finding cans in their cupboards, including some extra cans in their weekly shop, some students even using some of their own pocket money to buy a can or two!
293 cans is a fantastic effort and will be able to help so many people in the local community. Thankyou so much to everyone who donated. The cans were presented to Mrs Campbell on behalf of the St Vincent De Paul society at our end of term mass and it was wonderful to see just how much interest students gave to this challenge, some individual students bringing over 10 cans! As a Catholic School we strive to always help others and follow the mission of Jesus, donating this food and helping those families in Churchill that are less fortunate than themselves is the perfect example of this mission. Well done everyone!
