From Mrs Darby

Dear Families,
It was a wonderful first week back at school for Term 2. The children have returned settled and back into their learning routine. I’m sure if they’re anything like my children, there might have been a bit of grumbling about going back to school, but when they are here they are happy and engaging in their learning positively and playing respectfully with each other during break times.

I will be on camp with grade 5/6 this week, so I’d like parents to know that should any serious issues arise to contact Kristy Smith who is one of our Senior Leaders and the responsible person in my absence. The school number is: 5122 2231 and Kristy’s email is: ksmith@churchill.catholic.edu.au.

A huge congratulations to Abigail Jurdison, Arya Riess, Pippa Harder, Nate Wookey, Lucy Liu Savill and Ashley Sheary who received the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time on Sunday. It was a wonderful celebration and lovely to share in this moment in their faith journey.

This week I would like to highlight a few reminders:
Remember there is no school on Thursday or Friday this week
Mother’s Day Breakfast and Mass Thursday 2nd May from 8am in the Eco-Centre for all mums, nans, aunties or any special people
School Photos on Thursday 9th May – please ensure you child has the correct uniform. I am noticing many children coming to school in clothes that are not part of the uniform. A reminder that black leggings and skorts are not our school uniform on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays but can be worn for Sports Days on Thursdays and Fridays. The school uniform shop has the correct uniform – brand new or second hand. Black shoes or sneakers are to be worn on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A Prayer for our ANZACS
God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, which was
won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray
that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in
generations to come. That the freedom and security which they sought to preserve may be seen and
known in all the nations upon earth. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the
sake of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Have w wonderful week ahead,
Sally
