From the Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome to the end of another week of Remote Learning. I have really enjoyed th opportunity to visit each classroom virtually in their daily Google Meets and I have been very impressed with the level of engagement from the students, and in particular their much improved stamina to stay attentive during these video conferences. The quality and quantity of work I have seen from some students has been outstanding.
Our staff have been sensational and very adaptive to this new work environment, with all the staff commenting on how much they are enjoying the frequent engagement with the students. These interactions are obviously good for the soul but are an important check-in for the students to access support for the assigned tasks for the day. As Remote Learning progresses it is important for each family to maintain the routine of participating in these check-ins.
As part of this newsletter we have included a Parent Survey similar to something we asked parents to complete during Remote Learning 1.0. The staff were able to take onboard the feedback we received last time to make improvements to our Remote Learning program so we encourage you to take the time to complete the survey as we really value for feedback.
Next week behind the scenes we will undertake another important component of our school improvement processes. Senior members of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL) will work through a series of tests and checks to ensure we are compliant across many features of a school and a worksite. We are in a very fortunate position of being able to showcase our new building project that had at its key objective to boost the safety, efficiency and professionalism of the school. The child safe features we have been able to bring to our site are just fantastic and we have been able to harness the latest of technology and communication which will serve our school community well in the years ahead.
This week we have seen some good news across our state in terms of COVID-19 statistics so we can continue to have a positive outlook to being in a position of Remote Learning. I can only encourage parents to engage with their families as much as they can in Remote Learning 2.0 and use it as an opportunity to learn more about their children as learners, and keep our students' minds exercising ready for a smooth transition back to onsite learning.
Enjoy your weekend
Take care - Dave
