From Mrs Darby
Dear Families,
Welcome to Week 7!
Firstly, I’d like to congratulate our school basketball teams. Both the boys and the girls competed in the school basketball tournament last week. Our girls did well and came second which unfortunately ends their journey. Our boys are through to the next round so we wish them luck moving forward also.
Yesterday we had dress up day for Book Week, I’d like to thank Mrs Wilson in the library for the amazing day of activities that she organised for the children. I know it was a lot of fun and it’s always lovely to celebrate Book Week by dressing up and recognising the valuable role books can play in the lives of our kids.
We have Father’s Day coming up next week. Remember there will be a Father’s Day Breakfast in the eco-centre but no mass as Father James is on holidays. The Parents and Friends will also be running the Father’s Day Stall on this day also – Thursday 31 st August -more information to come.
Thank you to all of our families for all of the food donations that came in last week. We will make sure that these are donated to Vinnie’s and given to those in need in our community. I know that there are many families in our school community who may not be Catholic, but as a Catholic community, we would say that when we give freely to others in need, we are doing God’s work and living out the Gospel in our lives. No matter what we believe individually, I am sure we can all agree that donating to those in need is important work so again, thank you all for your support.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
