Dear Families,

We had a wonderful week here at Lumen Christi last week.

It was lovely to have so many children and their families attend our Grade 3 games night on Tuesday. Lots of smiling faces and a little bit of fun whilst learning about the sacrament of Reconciliation. This weekend, remember that there is a commitment mass for all children making their reconciliation. Please ensure that you attend one of the masses in Churchill or Morwell to collect your Reconciliation pin. These are pinned to your stole and worn on the night.

Saturday 6pm St Vincents Morwell East

Sunday 9am Lumen Christi

Sunday 10:30am Sacred Heart Morwell

We also had a great mass celebration with grades 2/3 and 3/4 to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. It was a beautiful mass and also a great turn out with many parents and grandparents coming along. It is fantastic to see so many people supporting these special moments in our calendar so thank you for coming along.

In our last few weeks of term, we have a number of important dates coming up. Please make sure you keep an eye on the school calendar, on Facebook or through Schoolzine messages – we will do our best to communicate everything to our school community.

This week, we are fortunate enough to be planting a tree through the Lone Pine initiative. This was applied for through Shane Wilson, so I thank him for putting the school forward for this. We will be planting this tree on Wednesday afternoon at 2pm, which will be attended by some local government representatives.

Because it was St Patrick’s Day on Friday, we prayed this prayer together as a staff. It is called “St Patrick’s Breastplate”.

Christ be with me, Christ within me

Christ to comfort me and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger
