Dear Families,

I need to start by giving a HUGE shout out to our Parents and Friends for running a wonderful Disco on Friday night. Seeing the work that goes into these events for the children, I am filled with appreciation for the time and effort of these dedicated parents. They always have creating fun and memorable experiences for the children at our school at the core of everything they do. Thank you!

We have started our Swimming Program this week. Feedback rom our staff has been that so far, it is running well and the children are enjoying the lessons. Thanks to all of our families for ensuring that the children all have consent and are coming to school organised with everything they need.

Next week, we have our Grandparents’ morning on Thursday. We welcome all of our special grandparents to enjoy spending time in classrooms and a lovely morning tea afterwards. Grandparents play an important role in our families, many of us relying on them for extra help and support, especially if we are working parents. I know I couldn’t survive without my parents as a working mother!

Our Year 3 games night is next Wednesday night. We would love ALL Year 3 students and an adult to come along and enjoy a fun evening of games and pizza. As a Catholic school community, we have a small number of children who will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in a few weeks, so this night forms part of their preparation, but also allows their peers to take part in an experience to see this Sacrament in action. Through playing games, we have the opportunity to make mistakes, solve problems, make genuine apologies when things go wrong and practice forgiveness in the same way that God forgives us. In the past this has been a well attended evening and an enjoyable one for those who have come along.

In honour of Swimming Week, I googled who the Patron Saint of water and swimmers was and have found a short prayer for Saint Adjutor to share.

Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of water —
for the oceans, rivers, and pools where we swim,
for the rain that gives life to the earth,
and for the waters of Baptism that welcome us into Your family.

We give thanks for St Adjutor,
the brave and faithful patron saint of swimmers.
He reminds us to trust in You when the waters around us feel deep or rough,
and to find courage and peace in Your presence.

Help us, Lord, to be strong and safe in all we do —
whether we are swimming, learning, or playing.
Teach us to move through life with confidence and faith,
knowing that You are always with us, guiding our way.

St Adjutor, pray for us.

We celebrated Mission Month Thursday 16th by wearing red and raising money for Catholic Mission. Thank you to all of our families for donating a gold coin and to Mrs Szkwarek for organising a wonderful morning.

Our Glow Disco was so much fun! Thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends for organising such a fantastic event for our students big and small.

Sacrament of Reconciliation – Grade 3 students

Grade 3 parents - A note was sent home last week in relation to the upcoming Sacrament of First Reconciliation which is in November. This Sacrament is offered for Baptised Grade 3 students and is the Sacrament that follows after Baptism in the Catholic Church. We sent a letter home very early this year asking parents if their child/children will be participating in this sacrament but because this was so early in the year another note went home last week just to confirm our students for this sacrament. Reconciliation is the second sacrament in the Catholic church following Baptism and must be completed prior to a child making their First Eucharist.

If you wish for your child to participate in this sacrament please complete the form that was sent home and return it to the office this week.

Dates for the Sacrament are:

Commitment masses:

25^thor 26^th October 2025 - Students will need to present a prayer letter

8^thor 9^th November 2025 - Students will be presented with a special prayer book

15^thor 16^th November 2025 - Last Commitment Mass where students will be presented with a pin for their stole.

Sacrament of Reconciliation – Wednesday 19^th November at Sacred Heart, Morwell at 5:30pm

We will also have a Grade 3 Games Night on Wednesday 29^th October for ALL Grade 3 students (you do not have to be making the sacrament to attend this). It was lots of fun last year and students really enjoyed it – we encourage all Grade 3 students to come along for lots of fun together, a yummy pizza dinner and to support our students making their Sacrament.
