Dear Families,
Well, it’s been a wonderful morning celebrating Book Week. The theme for Book Week this year is “Book and Adventure”, I know many of our children enjoy reading and the many adventures books can take us on.
It’s a busy week this week with Parent Teacher Interviews and a whole school excursion on Thursday to Sacred Heart. Most families have made appointments and given consent, for families that haven’t done this yet, there is still time.
Also, a reminder for Grade 3/4 families that camp is coming up soon – so please make sure all the preparations for this are in place too.
Our Foundation Transition sessions begin next week, it is exciting to be welcoming a number of new students and families into our community.
Footy Colours Day is coming up on Thursday 18th September which is the last day of school for students. Come dressed in your team colours – any code of football that you like.
Father’s Day is just around the corner – we will have a Father’s Day Breakfast and Mass on Thursday 4th September. Mark this date in your diaries dads, grandads and any other special family members or friends who would like to come along and be here for the kids at school.
Because it is Book Week, I will leave our school community with a prayer thanking God for the gift of books.
Prayer for Book Week 2025
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of stories and books,
for the authors and illustrators who bring them to life,
and for the joy and wisdom they give us.
Bless our minds as we read,
so we may grow in knowledge,
wonder, and imagination.
Bless our hearts as we share stories,
so we may learn to walk with others in kindness,
understanding, and respect.
This Book Week, help us celebrate
the many voices and ideas that make our world rich.
May every page we turn bring us closer to You,
who are the Author of Life and the Word made flesh,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
